WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE IN THE THREE CAMPS?
-
During our standard edition of She’s a Hand Ranch Camp you will learn all of the skills mentioned down below while also partaking in day to day ranch activities.
At Ranch Camp we focus solely on ground work with cattle. Skills learned include:
Confidence in handling and moving cattle
Cattle health management
Cattle business structures
-
Experience Ranch Camp during one of the busiest and most rewarding seasons on the ranch.
This is our traditional She's a Hand Ranch Camp, held during spring calving season when our AI cows are due to calve. You'll experience everything included in our signature Ranch Camp while also getting the opportunity to step into the realities of calving season.
Depending on what the week brings, you may:
Assist with calving and newborn calf care
Help pull calves when needed
Learn how to graft calves
Help calves nurse for the first time
Participate in day and night calving checks
Experience the unpredictability and excitement that comes with bringing new life into the world
No two calving seasons are ever the same, which means no two camps are either. The cattle set the schedule, and every day offers new opportunities to learn.
In addition to the calving experience, you'll also participate in the full Ranch Camp curriculum, including cattle handling, ranch management, livestock health, horseback experiences, and daily ranch life.
If you've ever wanted to experience calving season firsthand, this is the camp for you.
-
Take your horsemanship from the arena to the ranch.
The Horseback Edition is designed for women who are already comfortable riding and want to learn how to confidently use their horse in a working ranch setting.
Attendees will need to bring their own horse.
Throughout camp, you'll build both your horsemanship and your confidence as you learn skills such as:
Riding in a ranch environment
Working cattle from horseback
Opening and closing gates horseback
Moving and sorting cattle
Roping from horseback
Doctoring cattle from horseback
Ranch horsemanship and stockmanship
We begin by building a solid foundation, helping both horse and rider become more confident before introducing cattle work. As the week progresses, you'll continue applying those skills in real ranch situations.
On the final day, campers will spend the day in White Sulphur Springs putting everything they've learned into practice while helping move and doctor yearlings alongside our ranch crew.
If your goal is to become more confident using your horse as a working partner on the ranch, this camp was built for you.

AT SHE'S A HAND RANCH CAMP, YOU WON'T SPEND YOUR DAYS SITTING ON THE SIDELINES. WHETHER YOU'RE STARTING FROM SCRATCH OR BUILDING ON YEARS OF EXPERIENCE, OUR HANDS-ON APPROACH IS DESIGNED TO HELP YOU GAIN THE KNOWLEDGE AND CONFIDENCE TO TAKE A MORE ACTIVE ROLE ON THE RANCH.
YOU DON'T HAVE TO ARRIVE KNOWING HOW TO DO IT ALL. THAT'S WHY WE'RE HERE.
AT SHE'S A HAND, EVERY QUESTION ASKED, SKILL PRACTICED, AND NEW EXPERIENCE IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO GROW. THE GOAL ISN'T PERFECTION. IT'S LEAVING CAMP MORE KNOWLEDGEABLE, MORE CAPABLE, AND MORE CONFIDENT THAN WHEN YOU ARRIVED.
Six days. Countless opportunities to grow.
